It will take a few more days to close
the acquisition by Lufthansa of 41% of ITA, sources close to the
operation said Monday, the day initially expected for the
closure of the merger between the Italian and German airlines.
According to the sources, the parties are still working to
define the final steps.
They are reportedly moving towards the second call of the ITA
general assembly scheduled for January 15, the deadline by which
Lufthansa must subscribe to the capital increase.
The possible closing of the operation for January 13 had
filtered out after a meeting between Lufthansa employees and CEO
Carsten Spohr and had been relaunched by the German agency Dpa,
but had never found confirmation at the Italian economy
ministry.
